This weekend two major events at the Horizon Convention Center will bring nearly a half-million dollars of economic impact to Muncie and Delaware County.
The
Indiana Field Archery Association will begin its indoor State Archery
Tournament on Friday. The annual gathering has something for archers at
all levels of expertise, complete with a student competition on Friday
and adult competitions on Saturday and Sunday. Attendance is expected
to surpass 1000 people by the event's end. This is the first of at
least three years the tournament will be held in Muncie.
The Unitarian Universalists Heartland District's annual meeting, also a weekend-long event and new to Muncie, brings another 150 attendees to the Horizon Convention Center. The Heartland District represents congregations from Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan and Ohio and participants will travel from all four states to Muncie for the weekend and celebrate their 150th anniversary.
Between the two events, an anticipated 725 hotel room nights will be occupied in Muncie, adding up to $424,500 in economic impact for the community.
The Horizon Convention Center is host to local, regional, national, and international guests and events which have a significant economic impact on Muncie and Delaware County.
