Indianapolis, Indiana, December 28, 2009-With a lot of hard work and effort from the Horizon Convention Center staff, downtown Muncie business owners and Ball State University, Horizon Convention Center won the 2009 STAR-Supplier Marketing Award from the Indiana Society of Association Executives-ISAE.
The Horizon Convention Center won the award for its hosting of the association’s retreat last May. The Horizon Convention Center provided a venue for the retreat, while using the visit as a marketing opportunity to showcase its facilities, services, food & beverage capabilities and the City of Muncie as a meeting destination. The goal of the event was to show association executives the exceptional facility, one-stop-shopping and all of the options Muncie has to offer for their future events. Ball State University Code Red Dancers and Mascot Charlie the Cardinal volunteered their time to entertain guests at a special “Best of Muncie” luncheon during the retreat.
The ISAE Annual STAR Awards program was held on Thursday, December 3, 2009 at the Indianapolis Artsgarden. Each year the group recognizes associations, association leaders and association suppliers that have excelled throughout the year. This year key players across the state were awarded trophies in various categories in the Awards of Excellence.
The Horizon Convention Center is host to local, regional, national, and international guests and events which have a significant economic impact on Muncie and Delaware County.
