Muncie, Indiana, March 10, 2010- This weekend, the Horizon Convention Center will host the Indiana Field Archery Association’s State Tournament.
The Indiana Field Archery Association will begin its indoor State Archery Tournament on Friday. The annual gathering has something for archers at all levels of expertise, complete with a student competition on Friday and adult competitions on Saturday and Sunday. Over 700 students will participate in the competition on Friday, exceeding last year’s participants. Attendance is expected to surpass 1000 people by the event’s end. This is the second time the state tournament has been held in Muncie and the association plans to return for at least another two years.
“On behalf of the entire city we welcome the Indiana Field Archers to the Horizon Convention Center and the city of Muncie. We are delighted to have been selected to host this event again and we look forward to a great weekend for the entire city of Muncie,” said Joann McKinney, president/ceo of Horizon Convention Center.
The Indiana Field Archery Association is open to the public with free admission. The state tournament will run Friday, March 12, 8am-7pm, Saturday, March 13, 9am-1pm and Sunday, March 14, 9am-1pm.
The Horizon Convention Center is host to local, regional, national, and international guests and events which have a significant economic impact on Muncie and Delaware County.
