The Horizon Convention Center is ideal for events from 10 to 1,200 attendees, with space to accommodate everything from large main sessions to small breakout sessions, and tradeshows to banquets. Our dedicated sales staff serves as your point of contact with our in-house catering and on-site audio/visual departments, making event planning and coordination convenient.
The HCC is located in the hospitality district of Muncie’s revitalized Downtown, where your guests will find a variety of restaurants, pubs, shops, and entertainment venues.
Room Details
Delaware Hall – 23,400 Sq. Ft. – Divides into 2
Delaware Hall is the largest room at the Horizon Convention Center and boasts a spacious 23,400 square feet. Located in the modern section of the building, the room’s 25’ ceilings make it particularly spacious feeling and versatile. Delaware Hall is ideal for larger conventions, larger banquets and trade shows. Restrooms are located at the front of the hall, allowing for self-contained events. Being located on either side of the room, restrooms are accessible whether using one or both sides of the hall.
This room divides in half (Delaware Hall 1 and Delaware Hall 2) and each side can accommodate seating for 1,000 people theater style, 500 in a banquet setting, and 64 8×10 booths.
Interurban Hall – 7,744 Sq. Ft. – Divides into 1/3 and 2/3
Interurban Hall is the second largest room at the Horizon Convention Center with 7,744 square feet and is located in the historic section of the building. The room’s warm ambiance, featuring wood and steelwork, give it a special historical touch. This room, like nearly all rooms in the Horizon Convention Center, can be divided to allow smaller groups to use this elegant room without feeling overwhelmed by its size. Interurban features a mezzanine-style lobby that can be used for a registration area, a buffet, or simply to add to the atmosphere. Here your attendees will see a lot of the unique building accents, including the arched windows and high ceilings of the former Post Office building.
Prairie Creek – 2,072 Sq. Ft. – Divides into 3
Prairie Creek, located on the upper level of the Horizon Convention Center, is ideal for breakout sessions, company meetings, or smaller social events. The modern décor in this room provides a neutral backdrop for most any type of event. As one large room, Prairie Creek has the seating capacity of 180 theater style, 100 banquet style, or 90 classroom style. It can also be split into thirds for smaller meetings or breakouts. Access to this room is provided by both a staircase and a glass-enclosed elevator.
White River – 1,820 Sq. Ft. – Divides into 2
White River, located on the upper level of the Horizon Convention Center, is ideal for breakout sessions, company meetings or smaller social events. The modern décor in this room features artistic touches such as a chair rail and wall sconces. As one larger room, White River has the seating capacity of 130 theater style, 80 classroom style , and 80 banquet style or and can be split in half for smaller meetings or breakouts. White River exits into a small sitting area so your attendees have a place to sit and network with one another. This area, as well as all the halls upstairs, is filled with large windows to allow natural sunlight. Access to this room is provided by both a staircase and a glass-enclosed elevator.
Cardinal Creek – 1,200 Sq. Ft. – Divides into 3
Cardinal Creek is another option for holding breakout sessions and small meetings. It can be divided into three rooms to accommodate smaller groups and breakout sessions. The set of rooms is located on the upper level and is accessible either by stairs or the glass-enclosed elevator. The room features windows that overlook Delaware Hall when open. Divided into two parts, 2/3 of this room would be perfect for a session of up to 60 people in theater style, while using the other third for a speaker preparation room.
Mississinewa – 660 Sq. Ft.
Mississinewa, located on the upper level of the Horizon Convention Center, is another option for a small gathering or breakout session. It is accessible by using the stairs or the glass-enclosed elevator. It can accommodate a maximum of 48 chairs theater style, 30 banquet style, or 32 classroom style.
Hackley Reserve –2,580 Sq. Ft. – Divides into 2
Hackley Reserve is located on the lower level in the historic section of the building. Its warm ambiance, featuring wood, give the room a special, historical touch. This room, like nearly all rooms in the Horizon Convention Center, can be divided into two rooms to allow for smaller groups or breakout sessions to use the space. Restrooms are adjacent to this room.
Shafer Hall – 1,960 Sq. Ft.
Shafer Hall is a recent addition to breakout space at the Horizon Convention Center. Adjacent to a stairway and elevator, Shafer Hall is located near the Muncie Children’s Museum entrance and is ideal for use as a meeting breakout and team building activities. Shafer Hall can accommodate 240 people theater style and 120 people classroom style.
Green Room – 675 Sq. Ft.
The Green Room is the perfect room to house your staff office. This room can be re-keyed so that it secures access to only those you chose. The Green Room has a boardroom style table and can be accessed directly from Delaware Hall or the shared lobby hallway.

This public first floor space has just the right ambiance to accommodate any social gathering after a long day of education.
